New completed projects!

I thought I’d take some time to show off some of the new crochet projects which I have on display at the store:

Ojo de Dios Tote - crocheted and felted
Ojo de Dios Tote - close-up

I’ve been wanting to make this crochet tote for awhile.  It was an extra download from Crochet Magazine, January 2010.  The designer is Renee Barnes.  The pattern features Knit Picks Wool of the Andes wool yarn which I don’t stock, so I substituted Patons Classic Wool and Brown Sheep Lanaloft:

Cloud (Cream) was substituted for Brown Sheep Lanaloft – Cottage White (1 ball)

Chestnut was substituted for Patons Classic Wool – Chocolate (2 balls)

Avocado was substituted for Patons Classic Wool – Lemongrass (1 ball)

Snickerdoodle was substituted for Patons Classic Wool – Sesame (1 ball)

I had half a ball leftover from each colour.  The Patons Classic Wool felts beautifully.  I probably should have felted it more but as I have a front loader, it was a bit hard to stop and check.  I used 4 Boye wooden cabone rings for the handle.  I think you can still get the pattern from the Crochet! magazine website but you have to sign in first.

The second project is the Earth-Friendly tote bag by Mary jane Hall (can you tell I have a thing for bags right now?  LOL).  This one took me  a year to do – it was in Crochet Today, September/October 2009. It’s really big and uses a lot of yarn plus it is full of bobble stitches which use up even more yarn!  Not a project I would do again…

It used 8 balls of Red Heart Eco-Cotton in Currant and one ball in Rose Pink because I ran out of the currant and the pink was all I had left!  LOL!  I don’t have any of that in stock at the moment, but you could substitute Sugar ‘n Cream or Handicrafter Cotton instead.

Well I hope you enjoy reading about what I’ve been up to!

Look out for some exclusive NEW!  Summer Market Tote patterns which I am currently designing.  These will be for sale in the store or as Ravelry downloads.

  1. Hey, I was just wondering if you wouldn’t mind posting my name as the designer for your Earth Friendly Tote from Crochet Magazine. Sorry it took you so long! I love making Bobbles but there are tons in that design 🙂

    Thanks,

    Mary Jane Hall
